Float Method
At the beginning, float method is a classic method that has been used as an alternative for streamflow measurement  at Golok River Station . The simplest float method is by using a float and the naval  time in certain distance so that the velocity (v) can be achieved. PVC pipes at different length namely 0.2m, 0.5m, 0.75m, 1.0m, 1.5m and 2.0m are used as the floats for surface velocity measurements.

A-Frame Method
Later on, hydrological data collection for Sg Golok in Rantau Panjang commenced  in year 1962 and DID has accumulated since the  continuous  records.
DID team have conducted flow measurements as Sg Golok Bridge using an A-Frame that moved along the guardrail of the bridge.

Hornet Plus Method
At present, The Hornet plus is the new method to replace float method and A-Frame method that have been used before. The Hornet Plus can be used of either an ADCP or mechanical Current Meter for which is  to be attached to the hoist of the cableway system for flow measurement.

The Hornet Plus is operated from the bank of a stream river using handheld remote control. The control systems operates an electric motor to drive the carriage and hoist from the operating side to the far side of the waterway and back to the starting point. The Hornet Plus can display the total cable length that has been fed out with the cable angle.
